The wedding is off!

No, no, no! Not my wedding, you sillies. Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler have called off their wedding! Tear.

This actually makes me sad, because K. Cav has always been my favorite Laguna Beach alum. I was so happy when they announced she was coming to The Hills! Then they had that creepy series finale where the camera zoomed out to reveal a set. Do you remember that? That was strange…

Anywayz, Kristin and Jay actually had a busy wedding planning month. They had their engagement party, registered for gifts and Kristin even bought her dress (Monique Lhullier). Then Jay apparently called off the engagement over the weekend because he got cold feet! The nerve. He choked when it came to the super bowl and now he has choked when it comes to his wedding!

I wish Kristin the best. Is Brody still with Avril? Maybe there is a rebound in the future. Did you notice that all of Kristin and Jay’s gifts are fulfilled on the registry? Sympathy gifts, perhaps? Kisses, Kristin. Stay strong!

The 90’s are All That

Maybe I am the last to know about this, but 90s Nickelodeon shows are coming back! The line up will include All That, Kenan and Kel, Clarissa Explains It All and Doug. The shows will air Monday – Friday 12 a.m. – 2 a.m.

Now don’t get me wrong, I am totally jazzed about this, but I have two complaints:

1) WTF is up with the time? 12 a.m. – 2 a.m. I am a working woman and cannot stay up until 2 a.m. to watch my favorite Nickelodeon shows! Tivo set.

3) WTF is up with the line up. They probably picked the 4 worst shows. Some choices that I would highly recommend are Hey Dude! Salute Your Shorts, The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo, The Secret World of Alex Mac and Are You Afraid of the Dark? Apparently they are going to add more shows later on. Cross your fingers for donkey lips!

98 degrees

No, this post is not about the fact that it was literally 98 degrees outside when I took Larry to tinkle this morning. This post is about Nick Lachey getting hitched!

I considered including Vanessa Minnillo in the Wedding Dress Guess extravaganza, but then I thought for a minute and realized that there is not a single person who cares about Vanessa Minnillo. I mean, come on, she peaked when she was Miss Teen USA in 1998. Since then, she has hosted True Beauty (worst show ever). Although things are looking up for her, because she is signed on the be the host of Wipeout (Ryan loves that show).

Anyways, Vaness and Nick tied the knot on July 15th in Necker Island with 35 guests. She wore a Monique Lhullier gown. There aren’t many pictures of the wedding yet, but don’t worry, it was filmed for a TLC wedding special. That is right, Nick is starting off his second marriage with a reality TV show – which is arguably the reason his first marriage ended. Smart move.

PS – I can’t really tell, but doesn’t this dress look like the Monique Poppy dress I predicted Jess would wear? Oh, the irony.

Say it ain’t so, Ames

I cannot recap the bachelorette for you this week, it is too painful to relive. By now your probably all know that Ames is gone. At least we had the pleasure of meeting his family. And what a cute family they were. The whole scene looked like it was straight out of a Ralph Lauren advertisement.

Anyways, I am happy to say that this is not the last we will be seeing of Ames. He has joined the cast of the Bachelor Pad! And I am also pleased to announce that Ames is rumored to be dating one of my favorite past bachelor contestants, who will also be appearing on the Bachelor Pad.

On another note, Ryan is mad at me because I love Ames. He asked me who my top 3 celebrity crushes were, so I gave him my list:

Yes, I said Al Roker and then he got more mad at me.

My Best Buys

Sorry folks. I am seriously slacking in the blog department. Actually, I am slacking in all departments. I just can’t seem to get motivated to do much of anything after spending 10 days doing absolutely nothing but soaking up the sun, drinking and floating. I have a to-do list a mile long that I plan to tackle this weekend, so maybe next week I will be back with some more pep in my step.

In the mean time, I wanted to share with you some of my purchases that I made while on vacation.

First, is this cute flag that I hung up yesterday. I don’t know if Ryan is a big fan, but I love anything that publicly shows off my southern roots.

 

Next, is another flag. This one is a garden flag. You know, those small ones that you put in your garden? Anyways, I have recently become obsessed with my new last name and have been buying way too many things with “M” on them. Is that bad luck before you are actually married? I have coasters, a garden stepping stone, a trashcan (weird) and now a garden flag!

I just realized that both my flags are pink and green. Overkill?

Lastly, my favorite purchase is my redneck wine glass. It is a mason jar with a stem! Don’t you just love it?

Kitchen Envy

Today while I was working surfing da blogs, I came across the most beautiful kitchen in the whole wide world and I just had to share.

Do you love it?

Pink and green has always been one of my favorite color combos. In fact, I am wearing a green dress with a pink cardigan as we speak. But, I have never been successful decorating indoor spaces with pink and green. I have always found it to looks too college-preppy, but this my friends is perfection. Preppy chic at its finest and I must find a way to pull this off in my own home.

Our week-long vacation at the beach was not long enough. I am back in the office, but wishing I was here…

Every time I return from vacation, I am clinically depressed for at least a week. I can’t help but wonder why I waste my time sitting behind a computer all day long when I could be spending time with people I love. Life is too short to waste it at work. Anyone have any get rich quick ideas?

Anyways, it is back to reality for me. Which means wake up, go to work, wedding plan, make dinner, watch TV, sleep, repeat.

Only 50 days until I return to OIB for my bachelorette party! But nothing beats being there with my family, the pups and my fiance.

Wedding Dress Guess: Jessica Simpson

I love Jess. Poor girl has put up with so much. From her failed marriage with Nick Lachey, to her weight scrutiny (which is BS by the way, you look good girl!) to her little pup getting eaten by a coyote (!!) I can’t help but hope that Jessica has finally found happiness in fiance Eric Johnson.

Jessica has had her fair share of men since her and Nick called it quits in 2006. Her post-Lachey line up includes Adam Levine, John Mayer, Dane Cook and Tony Romo. This girl just loves to love! That is why I think Jessica is going to go for the “classic bridal” look for her upcoming nuptials. You know, to prove to everyone that this one is for-realzies!  It will be hard to beat her look from her sweet, hometown first wedding:

Wedding Dress Guess: Kristen Bell

When I think of Kristen Bell, 4 things come to mind…

I actually love Kristen Bell, and it’s not because she is crazy enough to marry Dax Sheppard, or because she is the mysterious voice behind the character that inspired one of my favorite shows, but because she is just so darn cute. Not to mention, Forgetting Sarah Marshall is also one of my all-time faves. When it comes to style, I think that Kristen has a Lauren Conrad look going on (sorry, I am a product of my generation and try to compare everything to a Hills star whenever possible). What I mean is that she is a true California girl with her short dresses and tasselled, beachy hair. I am thinking she is going to go pretty casual on her wedding day. I also picture her barefoot.
